About Tordis

Tordis has been indexing for 30 years, beginning in-house in 1988 with Indexing Specialists in the UK and then at The Listener in Auckland which she indexed along with several TV magazines as well as working as the Picture Editor for three magazines.


In 1997 she began freelancing in back-of-the-book and journal indexing and from 2008 began offering her proofreading and copy-editing skills as well. She is a native German speaker and occasionally is also called upon to do German to English translation work.


In 2004 she won the ANZSI Medal for her index to the biography of painter Toss Woollaston.
